Galway Húcéire Sailing Boat
Galway Húcéire's, are traditional sailing vessels of the 1800's.
I can't use the common English name for these Sailing Boats as Etsy's computer robot confuses it with certain ladies of the night and removes the listing!
These Sailing vessels were used for trade along Ireland's coast and down as far as Africa.
Today they are used for Summer Racing Festivals around Ireland.
I painted this Galway Húicéire shortly after watching a Húcéire race during the St. Mac Dara's Festival here in Carna, Connemara, Co. Galway.
It's an annual event and happens every July 16.
